Six artists from Berlin, Düsseldorf, and Tel Aviv have been invited by Lore Deutz to show a selection of their works in the exhibition space in a former rubber factory built in 1927. Their practices share an interest in contemporary artistic approaches that remain in dialogue with the ideals of modernism—an era that reached its height around the time the building itself was constructed.

The artists also belong to the same generation, shaped by the retro-music wave of the early 2000s—a youth culture that, in retrospect, might have been one of the last distinctly romantic and dream-driven movements. The exhibition title, THE DREAMING, refers to a Kate Bush album released around the time of the artists’ births. The title painting is by Eddie Argos, frontman of the band Art Brut, who famously declared “Modern art makes me want to rock out” in 2004.
